Pollution emergency response regions (IUA)
The municipal emergency response is based on risk assessments from normal enterprise in the municipality. Norway's municipalities are arranged into 34 emergency response regions. An Intermunicipal committee for acute contamination (IUA) in each region meets the requirement to maintain emergency response and take action. This intermunicipal emergency response is dimensioned to deal with smaller, acute discharges. Contamination incidents that are or develop into incidents that are too major for an IUA to deal with will be taken over by the Norwegian Coastal Administration ("Governmental action").

The dataset provides important support for both scheduled and operational work linked with emergency response against acute contamination in Norway. Used actively by the Norwegian Coastal Administration, IUAs and other public stakeholders that may become involved in acute contamination incidents or incidents where there is a risk of acute contamination.
