- Statement

The thematic dataset Seabed sediments (genesis) is based on grain size data, interpretation of video and seabed samples, interpretation of digital reflectivity data, interpretation of digital seismic data, and existing information from previous surveys. Detailed bathymetry data has been used as a support to the interpretation. The data has been digitized and prepared using ArcGIS tools. The methodology is described in the attribute fields Målemetode and GeolPavisningstype. The codes and properties mainly follow the SOSI standard. The dataset has been interpreted and digitized by NGU, but the basis for interpretations is data from the Geological Survey of Norway (NGU), the Norwegian Mapping Authority and the Institute of Marine Research (IMR).
